Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 54: Let's bat two absurd hitters 2nd and 4th (26-28)

Charlie Manuel decided to bat rookie Cesar Hernandez 2nd and Delmon Young 4th.  Delmon Young has a .700 OPS on the season.  Let's bat him cleanup!  I get that there's not a lot of options, but it just kills me to see Delmon Young bat high in the lineup.  The guy has no plan when he walks up to the plate.

The Red Sox knocked Pettibone around, and the Phillies were not able to hit Franklin Morales who is pretty bad.

Ellsbury stole 5 bases.
