Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 152: Halladay smoked by Braves (77-75)

The Phillies, who brought a 22-26 record in days games into Saturday afternoon's contest, trailed this game 7-0 after Roy Halladay was removed in the second inning. Halladay, for the record, is a better pitcher at night.

There's nothing to say about this game in regards to the manager. Manuel probably missed a double-switch opportunity to leave Darin Ruf in the game (and remove Ryan Howard ) against LHP Mike Minor after he pinch-hit early in the game, but Howard homered in his next AB anyway. It is obvious that Halladay must be shut down for the season after this start for precautionary injury reasons, which means the Phillies will have him make his next start.
