Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 139: Phils walk-off versus Colorado (68-71)

Charlie Manuel managed a relatively straightforward game on Sunday afternoon, thanks largely to Cole Hamels' 7-inning, 2-run effort. Hamels threw "only" 103 pitches, but he was removed for a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the 7th. It would have been very interesting to see if Manuel would have trotted Hamels out there for an eighth inning (and potentially 120 total pitches) had he not used a pinch hitter. I didn't see much of this game, due to the monstrosity that occurred in Cleveland on Sunday, but it doesn't seem like Manuel had much of an opportunity to screw things up.
