Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 109: Phillies lose first game to Braves (49-60)

On Monday night, RHP Ben Sheets started for the Atlanta Braves.  Charlie Manuel's lineup contained 3 consective lefties (Brown, Utley, and Howard), which is just insane.  There's not a great deal of talent in this lineup, but Mayberry and Frandsen (who has batted 2nd since being called up) are both RHBs, and should probably have been used at least in the 2-hole.  Preferably Mayberry for the late inning appearances by the LHP specialists.

Vance Worley was bad, and the Phillies couldn't muster any offense, so the rest is pointless to nitpick.
