Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 48: Kendrick throws a CG shutout (25-23)

Thanks to Kyle Kendrick, Charlie Manuel had absolutely nothing to do last night after writing down his lineup.

It is worth noting that Brian Schneider started last night against LHP Jaime Garcia, which may have been the result of Ruiz's needing a day off after getting demolished at home plate by baserunner Yadier Molina on Friday night, rather than Manuel's failure to understand Schneider's splits. Regardless, Kyle Kendrick made the point moot, and the Phils cruised to a 4-0 victory in which no substitutions were made.
