Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 42: Lee struggles early, Phils drop series to Boston (21-21)

I don't have any complaints after yesterday's brutal 5-1 loss to Boston. Josh Beckett dominated the Phillies' lineup until the 8th inning, when they actually scored a run and got the tying run to the plate against Vicente Padilla. Unfortunately, the Phillies have zero left-handed power off the bench, so Ty Wigginton was forced to try to hit a grand slam off Padilla to tie the game. He did not.

Cliff Lee probably shouldn't have been out there throwing 112 pitches in the heat while trailing 5-0, but,if Lee wanted to take some innings away from the bullpen (who pitched 4.7 innings on Saturday, with no off days until May 31), then there's no issue.

Tonight Kyle Kendrick faces RHP Gio Gonzalez at 7:05pm as Washington visits CBP.
