Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 28: Nationals take series from Philadelphia (13-15)

Saturday afternoon, the Nationals defeated the Phils bby a score of 7-1 behind 7 innings from Gio Gonzalez. Vance Worley squandered a 1-0 lead by allowing four runs in in the bottom of the 5th, leaving no opportunities for Charlie Manuel to make any true mistakes.

The lineup was actually a decent one on Saturday: Carlos Ruiz batted 5th, his highest slot this year. Manuel may be 3 years too late in moving up Ruiz in the order, but I guess it's better than never.
