Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 161: Phils demolish Braves, Cards tie the race (101-60)

The Phils demolished the Braves last night, and Manuel trotted out Chase Utley in the 2-hole for the second consecutive game. We've only been asking for this for the past 3 years, so it's curious that he finally breaks up the lefties in the final week of the season. Better late than never, I suppose; hopefully Utley remains in the 2-spot heading into the NLDS. Hunter Pence has been batting third (it should be Victorino -- he's better than Pence against LHPs), but it is much more important to split the lefties than it is to bat Victorino third over Pence. Well done, Mr. Manuel.
