Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 150: Phils clinch NL East with time to spare (98-52)

Roy Oswalt pitched arguably his best game of the yearon Saturday night. He struck out 7 while walking no one and allowing only five hits. The Phillies were in control almost the entire game, and they really pulled away in the 8th inning against the Cardinals bullpen.

After taking on 6 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning, the Phillies led 9-2. Charlie Manuel used Ryan Madson to pitch the 9th while up 7 runs. It would be one thing if he was just getting work in, but Saturday night made 3 consecutive days that Madson was used. It's completely ridiculous that Madson pitched the 9th considering the playoffs are right around the corner. In my opinion, there is no excuse for it.
