Game 149: Phils luckily get to extras, lose (97-52)

In a fairly uneventful game, the Phillies failed to clinch the NL East on Friday night. They managed to send the game into extras on an error by the Cardinals RF. Charlie Manuel pinch hit Ryan Howard with 2 outs in the 9th. Howard subsequently doubled, and Manuel correctly used Michael Martinez as a pinch runner. Martinez would score on Ruiz's batted ball to RF. Two innings later, the Cardinals knocked Michael Schwimer around for the victory.
