Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 144: Myers beats Phils (94-50)

The Phils lost their first game of a three-game series in Houston by a score of 5-1. They were shut down by Brett Myers over 8 innings of work, who managed only 4 strikeouts on the night. Roy Oswalt was unlucky, allowing 5 runs over 7 innings, thanks to three errors that were incorrectly ruled hits by the official scorer in Houston.

Oswalt pitched a full 7 innings but threw only 103 pitches on the night, so no accusations of misuse in this one.

No complaints for the manager for Monday; it was a simple loss in a virtually meaningless game.
