I don't really have much to say about this game. Manuel needs to start using Madson in extra inning games on the road, but it seems like zero managers in the MLB use this strategy. This type of inefficient managing will eventually fade away from the game over time, but it's clear that Charlie Manuel will not be one of the pioneers.
Joe West is ridiculous, the replay rules are ridiculous, the fans who interfered with the play are ridiculous, and Sun Life Stadium is ridiculous.

Terry Francona of all managers used Papelbon yesterday in extra innings at Toronto before a lesser reliever blew the game. At this point, I'm not as concerned about regular season games, but the real question is whether Charlie would let Herndon or Kendrick blow a post-season game (a la Torre) while Madson waits for a closing opportunity that never comes.
I would certainly hope Charlie has learned from seeing other managers use this strategy against the Phils in the playoffs, but you can never be so sure.
