Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 111: Phils take the first from the Giants (72-39)

The Phillies are 33 games over .500 after Cliff Lee shutout the Giants on Thursday night. Lee went nine innings, struck out eight, and only allowed seven hits. He walked no one. Chase Utley got the night off against LHP Madison Bumgarner, his first time not starting in a quite a while.

Charlie batted Victorino third and Valdez eighth. If only he'd start batting Victorino between Utley and Howard, that would be awesome. As usual, there's not much worth mentioning in terms of managerial decisions when there are no changes once the game starts.
