Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 70: Phils win 7th straight with strong performance from Lee (44-26)

The Phillies completed a four game sweep of the Marlins this afternoon. There was a total of 12 hits between the two teams (Lee only allowed 2 over 9IP). Lee's strikeout total was down compared to his norm this season; however, he still dominated, and went the whole way for the CG victory.

Cliff Lee contributed offensively as well with 2 hits and an RBI. Ryan Howard hit his 15th homer of the season, and just like that, the Phillies have won 7 straight games.

In a series where the two teams played 4 games in under 48 hours, the Phillies pitching did an extraordinary job. We could have been looking at a depleted bullpen after this type of series, but Cliff Lee, Roy Halladay, Cole Hamels, and Charlie Manuel did a good job of avoiding that. Kyle Kendrick did a decent job as well.

The Phillies open up a west coast trip tomorrow night in Seattle as Roy Oswalt faces off against RHP Michael Pineda
