Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 45: Phils win behind Lee's 8 innings (28-17)

Charlie Manuel didn't have much to do last night as Cliff Lee pitched 8 scoreless innings before Ryan Madson shut down the 9th inning for a 2-0 victory. I liked Charlie Manuel's lineup. Domonic Brown hit second, which is much better than seeing Wilson Valdez or Michael Martinez in that spot. Also, Carlos Ruiz batted sixth, which is the highest in the order he's ever hit. He was 0 for 2 with a walk. There are many, many Phillies fans who believe Ruiz should stay in the 8-hole, but his numbers are actually better in the 6-7 spots than 8. Ruiz batting 6th is a good sign, but with Utley and Brown getting healthy, we likely won't see it much.

Today the Phils go for the sweep when Roy Oswalt faces RHP Matt Harrison.
