Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 30: Phils sweep the Nats (21-9)

Roy Halladay pitched well last night; he threw 110 pitches over 7 innings and only allowed 6 base runners while striking out 10. The offense had another outstanding night. They drove starter John Lannan out of the game before he could record an out in the 3rd inning. Raul Ibanez had another multi-hit game, going 3-for-4 with a double and an upper deck home run. Maybe things ARE turning around for him?

A semi-complaint about Charlie: Ryan Madson pitched the 9th inning up 4 runs. Not a huge deal considering he only threw 11 pitches, and hasn't pitched recently. However, I believe McCarthy and Wheeler's insight made me more furious than I probably would have been. Let's just hope that Madson isn't "needed" all three games this series against a better opponent in the Braves.

Tonight, Cliff Lee faces RHP D(UI)erek Lowe.
