Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 18: The Padres are brutal (12-6)

Roy Oswalt handled the Padres last night with stuff that clearly was not his best. He walked the first batter of the game, found himself in a lot of deep counts, and as a result departed after 6 innings and 106 pitches. The Padres offense is pathetic.

The Phillies really hit Latos hard in the second with two bombs from Francisco and Brian Schneider. That was all that they would need.

Ryan Howard struck out 4 times last night. Antonio Bastardo looked pretty solid as he spanned 1.1 innings, to help give Ryan Madson the night off. Contreras nailed down the win.

I would normally complain about David Herndon being brought in in a three run game in the 7th, but the Padres are pathetic.

Cole Hamels takes on LHP Clayton Richard tonight.
