Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 154: Phils continue to win: Magic number 2 (93-61)

Joe Blanton went 7 innings last night on only 74 pitches. That's pretty insane considering he had 6 Ks and a walk. No doubt he could have stayed in the game, but Manuel went to the usual in the 8th and 9th. Madson threw 10 pitches in the 8th, and retired the side in order including two strikesout.

Lidge got the ninth. He gave up a double to lefty Ike Davis, but then still managed to get out of the inning and secure the win on just 12 total pitches.

The Phillies have the best record in Major League Baseball, and have now won 11 straight games.

Today, Kyle Kendrick will take the mound for the Phillies (I still do not know why) vs. Dillon Gee.
