Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 138: Phils get smoked (78-60)

The Phillies remained a game behind Atlanta yesterday afternoon after their 7-1 loss to Florida in game 1 of the doubleheader. Vance Worley did fine in his first Major League start, allowing only 2 runs in five innings, but Adalberto Mendez did better. The Phils managed their only run in the 9th inning.

The bullpen was bad, but that wasn't really Charlie Manuel's fault. No managerial mistakes in this one.
