Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 107: Kendrick cruises to victory (59-48)

The Phils pulled within 2.5 games of the wild card lead and remained 2 behind Atlanta after their 7-2 victory over Florida last night. They have now won 11 of 13 games. Kyle Kendrick pitched 6 innings allowing 2 runs.

Charlie Manuel didn't really make any mistakes last night, although Carlos Ruiz should probably be hitting against Domonic Brown. He used Jose Contreras and Ryan Madson to each pitch an inning while it was a 3-run game. Normally we don't like when Manuel uses Brad Lidge in 3+ run games, but he's been so bad the past two years we don't care when he pitches in the 7-2 game. As Mr. Graham stated, Ryan Madson and his 1.22 WHIP should be the closer for the rest of the season.

Tonight the Phils go for the sweep when Roy Oswalt faces RHP Chris Volstad at 7:10 pm.
