Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 71: Phils spank Jays on road at home (39-32)

Roy Halladay manhandled his former team through 7 innings while not allowing a run. Jesse Litsch on the other hand did not do so well against the Phillies lineup who totaled 11 hits on the night. The Phils were greatly aided by a well hit ball by Ross Gload that hung up a little while too long that Vernon Wells chased down, but misplayed.

Manuel’s use of Howard as a DH was fine with me as he gave Howard a night off of the field, and got Ross Gload some at-bats. Nothing really to complain about when the team wins 9-0.

Note: Jimmy Rollins walked 4 times and batters 2-9 had at least one hit in the game.
