Again, however, the Phillies offense really bailed out a below average start by combining for 17 hits and 4 walks. The 1-3 hitters (Vic, Polanco, and Utley) combined to go 9/16 with 7 RBIs, 2 2Bs, and a HR. Paul Hoover also added a homer in a 3/5 performance. The Phils got into a hint of trouble in the 9th when David Herndon came in for mop-up duty, but Jose Contreras was able to come in and put out the fire, sealing the series win for the Phillies.

Game 35: Phillies knock in 10 in win (22-13)
Joe Blanton went 7 innings while allowing 5 ER with just 7 base runners. Blanton's problem on Saturday night was the long ball, and the Brewers cashed in when they did have runners reach base.
