Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Mets-Cardinals game

I take great joy each time Johan Santana turns in a good outing, but fails to record the ever important "W". Not that I have anything against him as a person (I'm sure he's the man), but he's on the Mets, and I take great pleasure in their demise.

Anyway, Johan went 7 innings today while allowing 5 base runners along with 9 Ks. He did not allow any runs, and since his team failed to score any runs, he cannot possibly get the "W". The game is now in the 12th inning.

On the other hand, if the Phillies offense pulls off another miraculous comeback, Jamie Moyer could record his 2nd win of the season while allowing 5 ER in both outings. Clearly, Moyer will "outperform" Santana should the Phillies offense turn it around.

Santana had a no-trade clause. Nobody forced him to play for the Mets. He deserves everything he gets.

I love how he's wasting his career with the Mets. Good decision Johan.
