Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

More mind-numbing NHL crap

The top picture shows the puck on the line, and the second picture shows the puck after it moved forward slightly. You can see in picture 1 that the puck is barely touching the line, and when you compare the second picture to the first, it's clear it's a goal. You can see some white between the line and the puck on picture two. Same logic for pictures 3 and 4. Insane. You can expect Fox Sports in Pittsburgh to release the best angle tomorrow.

In other news, Randy Jones will be suspended two games for his hit on Simon Gagne.

Can someone explain to me why there has to be incontrovertible evidence to overturn a referee's call?

Do they really think that the ref had a better look at something happening for a split-second in real time than freeze-frames do?

Of course there was conclusive evidence here even though the booth morons didnt think so, but there shouldn't have to be.
