Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 150: Marlins shut out Phils in game 2 (88-62)

In game 2 of tonight's doubleheader, the Phillies managed only two hits as they fell to the Marlins, 3-0. Both hits were from Chase Utley. Anibal Sanchez pitched 8 innings while Jamie Moyer threw 7 innings, allowing three runs on 9 hits. Chad Durbin pitched 1 inning as the only Phils' reliever.

Not much to say about the manager, except that he batted Jayson Werth 5th, ahead of Raul Ibanez, in both games despite the Marlins' starting two RHPs. Hopefully he sticks with this plan through the playoffs.

The Phillies magic number is now 5, and they go for the series win tomorrow night at 7:10 pm when LHP Cole Hamels faces RHP Rick VandenHurk.
