Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 142: Phils win 1-0 behind Pedro's 8 innings (82-60)

The Phils swept today's doubleheader after beating the Mets, 1-0. Pedro Martinez threw 130 pitches in 8 innings. Ryan Madson pitched a scoreless ninth for the save. It's probably a good thing that Manuel saved Madson for tonight's game (a 1-run lead) while using Lidge for the first game (a 3-run lead).

Again, my only problem with tonight's game was the 3 straight lefties in the middle of the Phils' lineup.

The Phillies have an off-day tomorrow before opening a three-game set Tuesday at 7:05 pm when LHP Cliff Lee faces RHP Garrett Mock.
