Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 139: Phils take first from Mets (80-59)

The Phils beat the Mets last night behind a solid performance by Cole Hamels. Manuel seems to be back to the 3 consecutive lefties on a daily basis now that Ibanez seems to have turned it around. It's poor strategy. Hamels went 6.2 innings while allowing 8 base runners. Chan Ho Park, Brett Myers, and Ryan Madson went the rest of the way securing the Phillies victory.

The Phillies did a pretty good job of getting on base against Nelson Figueroa, a pitcher that they indeed should beat up. The team only managed 2 runs with 14 base runners against Figueroa. Not much to mention from a managerial standpoint.
