Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 127: Lee falls the first time (74-53)

The Phillies lost last night for the first time behind Cliff Lee. After not going shorter than 7 innings in his outings with the team, he only lasted 5 innings last night while giving up 10 hits and 6 earned runs. Hopefully this start doesn't become the norm for him (I don't suspect it will).

The rest of the team faltered as usual vs Derek Lowe. Utley had a solo homer accounting for the only run the Phillies scored. Nothing to talk about strategically in a blowout. Surprisingly, Brad Lidge was not used tonight. Durbin and Walker pitched the final three innings before rain shortened the game to 7.5 innings.

Tonight Joe Blanton takes on Jair Jurrjens on Sunday Night Baseball.
