Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 95: Phillies pour it on in the middle innings (55-40)

The Phillies won in grand fashion today behind a timely offensive showing. The game was close most of the day until Jimmy Rollins hit a timely grand slam to put the Phillies ahead for good. Victorino followed with a Solo homer. Every Phillies starter had a hit today.

Rodrigo Lopez has another sufficient outting today, and Manuel used Chan Ho Park and Steven Register to pitch the rest of the way.

The Cardinals had a bunch of hits today too, but couldn't manage to outscore the Phils.

Victorino went 4-4 today with a walk. His OBP is now up to .385 on the season, and is tied with Jayson Werth. They are both having good offensive years compared to their defensive position expectations.

As a side note, the Cardinals did what it took to get Matt Holliday, a move that shows their will to win. It will definitely pay off for them down the line. Hopefully the Phillies find a will/way to get the deal done for Halladay. Something tells me we will see him in red pinstripes soon.
