Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 90: Phils extend streak to 9 as they smash Cubs (52-38)

The Phillies beat up the Cubs tonight. Home runs by Ibanez and Ruiz put the Phils well out in front tonight. Howard tacked on a solo shot later to extend the lead to 10-1.

Not much to complain about when the game is out of reach like tonight.

I really don't like how Manuel put the 3 lefties in a row again tonight against a lefty. Werth batted 6th. This is insane. Werth is the best hitter on the team vs left handed pitchers. Batting him 6th will garuntee fewer PAs than most of the team.

Lopez pitched well in his second start with the Phils.

Hopefully they keep this going, and completely run away with the division
