Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 52: Hamels owns Dodgers (32-20)

The Phillies look absolutely incredible right now. In no small part due to the picture perfect managerial job done by Charlie Manuel tonight. Cole Hamels made it very easy for him though.

Manuel went with a lineup of Rollins, Utley, Werth, Howard, Ibanez, Feliz, Bruntlett, Ruiz. I compiled a guess/hope as to what the lineup would be earlier today, and Manuel's lineup matched it. Against the lefty Kershaw, Werth was moved up to the 3-hole, and Bruntlett was thrown between Feliz and Ruiz. Good stuff.

Hamels continued his domination of the Dodgers, and worked his way through 9 innings with fewer than 100 pitches.

Hopefully these guys keep the pedal to the metal. I would love to see them run away with the division. Yes, it's still early, but the team looks awesome.
