Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

New York, New York......... New York New York New Yor........

Many sources have the Mets very close to closing a deal with Derek Lowe. While I never truly expected the Phillies to make a serious attempt at buying him, I sort of, kind of, maybe hoped a little bit that they would do something significant. I think it's just grand how the state of New York has dominated this off-season (what else is new?). Sabathia, Teixeira, Burnett, and now Derek Lowe will all be entering the big apple. The Phillies organization makes me sick. They're going to sell out an overwhelming majority of their games this year, not to mention all the extra revenue obtained from the 2008 postseason and everything that comes along with it. They can't make a rush for Lowe? I know I always make a big deal about a pitcher's age, and he is 35, but his career WHIP and ERA are 1.268 and 3.75 respectively. If they can make a run at Ibanez, a cop out for not re-signing Burrell, then they can definitely try to get Lowe.
