Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

NLCS Review: Phillies win pennant in front of 20,000 fans

Seriously, Dodgers fans are an absolute disgrace. If they weren't selling their tickets for 8 dollars on StubHub, they were showing up in the third inning (did you see how many empty seats there were when Rollins homered?) or, according to 610-WIP's Anthony Gargano, threatening Phillies fans at knifepoint. But, hey, at least they don't boo Santa Claus.

Let's examine Mr. Musser's game-by-game predictions:

Predicted score: Phillies 4, Dodgers 3
Actual score: Phillies 3, Dodgers 2

Not a bad start. I got the margin of victory dead on. A quote from my prediction: "Lowe must control the Phils' righties." What was the difference? A homer by Patrick the Batrick.

Predicted score: Phillies 6, Dodgers 3
Actual score: Phillies 8, Dodgers 5

Margin, dead on again. However, I failed to foresee yet another Brett Myers yeoman performance at the plate. A quote from my prediction: "Rollins, Victorino, Utley, Howard, and Dobbs must take a patient approach to Billingsley and get some early runs." Those five players had a .600 OBP vs. Billingsley, helping the Phils tack on all 8 runs in the first 3 innings.

Predicted score: Dodgers 6, Phillies 2
Actual score: Dodgers 7, Phillies 2

Way off.

Predicted score: Dodgers 5, Phillies 3
Actual score: Phillies 7, Dodgers 5

Would've had this one exactly right if not for the best inning of Phillies baseball I have ever seen. It's great to be wrong. Although, I did say, "Look for an awful managerial move late in the game by Uncle C." It's not much of a stretch to predict this from Manuel, but Victorino did lay down a sacrifice bunt with two on and zero out in the top of the 6th while trailing by one run, which would have killed their inning if not for a Chan Ho Park wild pitch.

Predicted score: Phillies 7, Dodgers 2
Actual score: Phillies 5, Dodgers 1

Missed the margin by one.

Overall, 4 out of 5 is decent. I said Phils in six. Just missed. Stay tuned for the World Series breakdown once the opponent is set.
