Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

This is the man leading the Phillies

We proved yesterday that Victorino should lead off and Rollins should bat 6th. Chris Wheeler just explained on the telecast why Shane Victorino is in the 6th batting spot, despite holding a significantly better OBP and lower SLG% than Jimmy Rollins'. Wheeler said, "Charlie likes the energy that Victorino brings to the bottom of the order." What does that statement even mean? Rollins is better off batting 6th because he has a higher SLG% to drive in Utley, Howard, and Burell (top 3 career OBPs in the lineup). However, apparently he is not energetic enough to fill the 6-spot, whatever the fuck that means. So what do we do with lazy Rollins? Lead him off!

Also, shouldn't the top of the lineup deserve the "energy" (not to mention the higher OBP) more than the bottom? This team is a joke.
