Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

No W

Cole Hamels pitched terribly today. I mean he didn't get a Win. Forget paying attention to how well he did, there is still a 9 in his W column. Forget that he went 6.1 innings while giving up 2 earned runs and striking out 7. It doesn't matter. So to those of you who think Wins are meaningful stats for pitchers, it wouldn't have mattered if he gave up 0 runs, or 3 runs, or even 20 runs. He's not an ace because his offense didn't score any runs, let alone get a hit until the 5th inning (it was Hamels that broke the no-hitter). This loss falls squarely on the shoulders of the man who accumulated yet another L today, whatever the fuck that means.

shouldve only been one earned run. the ball that got past bruntlett in the fourth inning has no business qualifying as a hit
