Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 128: Not so bad (69-59)

Not much from the game. Charlie went with Burrell between Utley and Howard to break up the lefties. Obviously Mr. Musser and I are in favor of this. What I don't understand is why he shifts the lineup when he does this. What's wrong with our desired lineup of Victorino, Werth, Utley, Burrell, Howard, Rollins.... Anyway. Good game tonight for all. Some good hitting despite the early lack of plate discipline exhibited by our batters (Maddux had 23 pitches through 3 inning). One thing I would question no matter what, is in the 6th inning, leaving Kendrick in to face James Loney (a lefty... Kendrick is atrocious vs. lefties), especially if it was his last hitter no matter what. No harm, no fowl. Oh, and I'm not exactly how necessary it was to use Ryan Madson up by so many runs.
