Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 117: A win is a win is a win (64-53)

Not much to say today. The Phils won. Manuel could have pinch hit Dobbs somewhere in the 6th, either for Jenkins or Bruntlett, but everything worked out in the end. It was a wash because Dobbs got the job done in the next inning. Romero again faced two righties. This will never be okay because he has much worse numbers against righties (although they are slowly becoming better) than the Phils righties have against lefties. Again, good "decision" by Manuel to use Madson in the 9th up by 3. Hopefully Lidge isn't hurt too badly.

Hats off to the US mens 4 x 100 meter freestyle team who made the French eat their words. Nice job, Lezak.
