Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Yes, I'm going to be this guy

The Phils are up 3-0 right now, and there is currently nothing to complain about regarding this game, manager-wise.

However, at the beginning of the game, Chris Wheeler was talking about John Lannan, the Nats' starter who was ejected from his ML debut last season. Wheeler called that game a "very, very auspicious start for John Lannan."

A quick look at Lannan's stats for that game reveals 4.1 IP, 5 R (4 ER), and 1 HR allowed. Oh, and he became only the fifth player in MLB history to be ejected from his debut.

I believe that would be inauspicious, Wheels. Grab a dictionary sometime, or at least stop trying to sound smart when you're not.
