Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

On Roster Management

If Brett Myers has another subpar start tonight, it will be pretty obvious that J.A. Happ can not do any worse (in fact, he may actually do better). Happ was called up today to replace Adam Eat-out on the roster, doubling the number of lefty relievers the Phils now have. It is very important for the Phils to have another lefty reliever in the pen, but not nearly as important as having another effective starter in the rotation. A bad start for Myers should lead to his demotion to either the bullpen (where his head is) or the minors (where his performance is) and the promotion of Happ to the rotation. Considering Myers' performance this year, the Phils really have nothing to lose.
