Charlie Manuel frequently makes poor strategic decisions. The 11-million dollar scoreboard in left field would probably do a similar job. We guarantee a post analyzing Manuel's decisions for every Phillies game. Please click on our aliases below to email us.

Game 86: Credit where credit is due (47-39)

Hamels pitched tonight (brilliantly I might add). This could be a sign of good things to come (Alert: this probably isn't a sign at all). They moved Hamels up to seemingly not waste him against Santana. Smart managing. Now we hope for the best tomorrow with Happ.

You had to know it was too good to be true. The 2nd inning tonight served as proof that Burrell is too valuable to have getting on base before the bottom of the lineup. Yes, they scored him the 2nd time around, on a ground out to the shortstop. The first attempt seemed much better, and yet he was still left stranded. Burrell should be batting 2nd or 3rd especially now that Howard seems to have something going. I don't mean to belabor this topic, but it could prove largely successful once the lineup is functioning like its normal self again.
